Effective April 25, 2022, the government of Canada is introducing some changes for the eligible travellers to Canada.
Any children aged 5 through 11 travelling to Canada: Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children aged 5-11 who are accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent, step-parent, guardian or tutor will no longer be required to complete a pre-entry COVID-19 test for entry to Canada.
Anyone aged 12 or above: Pre-entry testing is still required for all eligible travellers of 12 years or above age group.
Age of 5 years or below: There is no change in the pre-testing requirements. This group is still exempted from any pre-testing requirement. They are also not required to be vaccinated.
In addition, fully vaccinated travellers arriving to Canada on or after April 25, 2022, are not required federally (may be provincially required) to do the following for 14 days after arriving:
- They are not required to wear masks in public.
- They are not required to monitor and report if they develop signs or symptoms of COVID19
- They are not required to quarantine if another traveller in the same travel group shows signs or symptoms of COVID19 or tests positive; and
- Also, they are not required to maintain a list of close contacts and locations visited.
Note: Use of ArriveCan App is still mandatory for all travellers.
