Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the IEC Working Holiday program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen of an IEC participating country or territory
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old (age limits vary by country)
  • Have a valid passport for the duration of your stay
  • Have at least CAD $2,500 to support yourself at the start
  • Be admissible to Canada (no criminal record)
  • Have health insurance for the duration of your stay
  • Not be accompanied by dependents
  • Pay the participation fee and work permit fee
